"This Life Without Regret"

This Life without Regret” (Never Regret) is a variety of Oolong tea. It is an organic tea, which means that both the tea leaves and the tea trees are free from exposure to any chemical fertilizer or pesticide. The tender tea leaves are carefully hand picked without the use of machines.

The leaves are then carefully brewed, and the special fragrant flavour develops as it infuses in the hot water. The bitter sweetness of this tea lingers on your palate long after the tea beverage is finished.

Tea manufacturing is very much a high-tech enterprise in Taiwan, where tea growers and manufacturers invest heavily on research and development in mountainous areas. It is also a culture-ridden enterprise, where exquisite tea is judged in tea competitions and the winner is cherished as the tea of the year. The quantity of an exquisite winning tea is fairly small. The winning tea can be as expensive as gold.

“This Life without Regret” is one such exquisite Oolong tea produced in the famous village of Lukoo in Taiwan. As the name suggests, a tea lover, after tasting this exquisite tea, is likely to exclaim, “What a marvelous tea! Having tasted this tea, I can now leave this life without regrets”.

Tea drinking is very much a matter of culture and has its own strong traditions and processes for brewing. Never drink Oolong tea the way you are drinking coffee. Exquisite tea should go with exquisite teapots and cups – it is part of a rich experience and a treat that you deserve.

Use a small, non-porcelain Chinese tea pot (clay/terracotta/pottery all work well). Marry this with small non-porcelain cups. After bringing the water in your kettle to the boiling point rinse the tea pot to warm it up . Then, put tealeaves into the tea pot (about one fifth of the tea pot capacity). Pour the boiling water into the teapot. And leave it for no more than 50 seconds. As you reach the third, fourth or even fifth brew you may leave it longer to avoid the taste becoming too faint.  Once the tea has infused, pour the tea into a slightly bigger container or jug, or perhaps into the teacups directly. You or your guests can now drink the tea in small, cherished mouthfuls.
